Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the integration of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and Quantum Learning approaches in mathematics learning for Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Larompong. This pre-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 18 students of Class VII.1. Data were collected using learning implementation observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, learning outcome tests (pretest and posttest), and a mathematics learning interest questionnaire.

The results showed that the average posttest score was 84.89, exceeding the Minimum Learning Mastery Criterion (KKTP) of 75. The average normalized gain of learning outcomes was 0.7976, which was categorized as high. Student activity reached 93%, indicating that students were actively involved in the learning process. In addition, the average normalized gain of mathematics learning interest was 0.6313, which was categorized as moderate. Inferential statistical analysis confirmed that all effectiveness criteria were significantly achieved (p < 0.05).

Therefore, the integration of Realistic Mathematics Education and Quantum Learning is effective in mathematics learning on the topic of sets for Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Larompong.
