Peningkatan Pemahaman Konsep Fisika pada Materi Gerak Lurus setelah Penerapan Model Discovery Learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peningkatan pemahaman konsep fisika peserta didik pada materi gerak lurus setelah penerapan model discovery learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Sampel terdiri atas 34 peserta didik kelas X pada salah satu SMA negeri di Kota Makassar yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes pemahaman konsep berbentuk two-tier sebanyak 20 butir yang telah divalidasi dan memiliki reliabilitas KR-20 sebesar 0,82. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui tahapan stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification, dan generalization. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, paired sample t-test, Cohen's dz, dan normalized gain (N-gain). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor meningkat dari 52,35 pada pretest menjadi 78,65 pada posttest. Uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest, t (33) = 12,94, p < 0,001, dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,55 (kategori sedang). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model discovery learning mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep fisika peserta didik pada materi gerak lurus.
