Author Guidelines

Karst: Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika dan Terapannya is published twice a year (June and December). The journal publishes original research and conceptual papers from researchers, lecturers, teachers, practitioners, and students focusing on Physics Education, Physical Sciences, and Applied Physics.

Manuscript Type
Karst: Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika dan Terapannya accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Article: Full-length empirical or experimental research reports in physics education, physical sciences, and applied physics that demonstrate clear novelty as well as theoretical/practical contributions.

  2. Review Article: Critical, comprehensive, and systematic reviews (such as systematic literature reviews or meta-analyses) on leading topics in physics education and applied physics.

  3. Short Communication / Technical Note: Concise reports on significant preliminary research findings, instrument developments, or instructional media in physics that warrant rapid publication.

Authorship Criteria
 Authorship credit should be based on standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Every listed author must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial contributions to the conception, design of the work, acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work.

  2. Active involvement in drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content.

  3. Final approval of the version to be published.

  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Note: Contributors who do not meet all four criteria (such as those providing acquisition of funding, general supervision of a research group, or administrative support) should not be listed as authors, but may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section.

General Requirements

  1. Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously in any journal, and are not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  2. The manuscript must be an original work and free from plagiarism.

  3. Submission files must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .rtf).

  4. The manuscript must be prepared according to the official Karst Journal Template.

  5. The text must adhere to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in these guidelines.

Structure and Formatting Guidelines

  • Title: Maximum of 25 words. Typed in Times New Roman 14 pt, regular font.

  • Author Name(s): Typed below the title in Times New Roman 11 pt bold, without academic titles, and unabbreviated. Institutional affiliations and active email addresses must be provided below the names.

  • Abstract: Maximum of 200 words in a single paragraph with single spacing (1.0). The abstract must state the research title, objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions. Typed in Times New Roman 12 pt.

  • Keywords: 3–6 keywords describing the substance of the article, separated by commas, placed directly below the abstract [Times New Roman 12 pt].

  • Introduction: Covers the problem background, urgency, literature review, proposed solution, objectives, and hypotheses (if applicable) [Times New Roman 11 pt, regular].

  • Method: Details the approach, scope/object of study, operational definitions, location, population and sample/respondents, primary tools and materials, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods [Times New Roman 11 pt, regular].

  • Results and Discussion: Presented thoroughly according to the research scope. May include numbered tables, charts, or figures with clear captions. The discussion section interprets findings logically and connects them with relevant prior literature [Times New Roman 11 pt, regular].

  • References: Must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 5th Edition style. Authors are required to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Articles must be formatted in Microsoft Word using Times New Roman font (size 10 pt), single-spaced on standard A4 paper.

Note: Authors are required to submit a signed Statement of Authenticity and ensure active email addresses and WhatsApp contact numbers are provided.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration
  • The manuscript is the original work not the result of plagiarism
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word (DOC or RTF)
  • The manuscript is made following the Karts Journal TEMPLATE that we have provided
  • The text complies with the stylistic and bibliographical requirements outlined in the Author/Template Guide
