Authorship Criteria

1. General Principles

Seltics Journal: Scope of English Language Teaching, Literature and Linguistics Journal is committed to ensuring that authorship accurately reflects the scholarly contributions of individuals involved in the research and preparation of a manuscript.

Authorship must be based on substantial academic contributions, and all listed authors must accept responsibility for the integrity of the work submitted for publication.

2. Criteria for Authorship

To qualify as an author, an individual should have made a substantial contribution to one or more of the following aspects of the work:

  1. The conception or design of the study, or the collection, analysis, or interpretation of research data.
  2. The development of the theoretical framework, research methodology, or substantive scholarly arguments.
  3. The drafting of the manuscript or its critical revision for important intellectual content.
  4. The approval of the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.
  5. Agreement to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work and to cooperate in resolving questions concerning any part of the research or manuscript.

Individuals listed as authors should meet the applicable criteria for authorship and should not be included solely because of their position, seniority, institutional affiliation, or financial support.

Individuals who have provided administrative assistance, routine technical support, general supervision, or other contributions that do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately rather than automatically listed as authors.

3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities

The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the Editorial Team throughout the submission, review, revision, and publication processes.

The corresponding author must ensure that:

  1. All listed authors have approved the submitted manuscript and its final version.
  2. All authors agree to the submission and publication process.
  3. Author names, affiliations, and contact information are accurate.
  4. Relevant contributions, funding sources, acknowledgments, and conflicts of interest are disclosed.
  5. Communications and editorial requests are shared with the other authors when relevant.

4. Author Order and Changes in Authorship

The order of authors should be determined collectively by the authors before submission and should reflect their agreed contributions to the work.

Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be explained to the Editorial Team in writing. The request must be approved by all authors concerned, including any individual being added or removed, before the journal considers the change.

The Editorial Team may request supporting documentation and may suspend editorial processing while the request is being assessed.

Changes to authorship after publication will be considered only when there is a justified reason and sufficient supporting evidence. Any necessary correction to the published record will follow the journal's applicable editorial policies.

5. Acknowledgments

Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged with their consent. Authors should clearly identify relevant assistance, including technical support, language editing, or other substantive contributions where appropriate.

Financial support and research funding must be disclosed in the relevant section of the manuscript.

6. Artificial Intelligence and Authorship

Artificial intelligence tools, including generative AI systems, cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and accountability of scholarly work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all content in their manuscripts, including material produced with AI assistance. Any AI use requiring disclosure must be reported in accordance with the journal's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.

7. Responsibility for Authorship Disputes

Authors are expected to resolve authorship disagreements in a fair and transparent manner. If an authorship dispute arises during editorial processing, the journal may request clarification and supporting documentation from the parties concerned.

Where necessary, the Editorial Team may refer the matter to the relevant institution or research organization. The journal will not determine institutional employment or disciplinary matters but may take appropriate editorial action to protect the integrity of the publication record.

All authors are responsible for ensuring that authorship information submitted to Seltics Journal is accurate and complete.
