Abstract

The Elementary School Teaching Assistance Program is an implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy that provides prospective teachers with direct teaching experience to develop their competencies. This activity aimed to strengthen the competencies of elementary school teacher education students while supporting the improvement of learning quality at SDIT Darul Muhsin Makassar. The program was conducted for six weeks and involved 14 students from the Elementary School Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Makassar. A qualitative descriptive approach based on experiential learning was applied through observation, planning, teaching assistance, and reflection-evaluation stages. Data were collected through observation, documentation, interviews, student report reviews, and activity reflections. The results showed that students produced teaching modules, student worksheets, teaching materials, simple assessments, digital learning media, non-digital learning media, teaching practice videos, activity documentation, and reflection reports. The program also contributed to more varied learning activities, student assistance, and support for literacy activities, extracurricular programs, and market day. Therefore, the experiential learning-based AMSD program strengthened students’ pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies while providing practical benefits for the partner school.
