e waste management problem in Tindang Village is still dominated by the low level of residents’ understanding and skills in sorting waste, resulting in most household waste being disposed of in mixed form and potentially causing environmental pollution. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and awareness of Tindang Village residents regarding proper waste sorting and to encourage the development of more responsible waste management behavior through a community engagement approach. The activities were carried out through socialization, material delivery, technical training, demonstrations on the use of sorting containers, field practice, as well as mentoring and monitoring. The program evaluation used pre–post tests to measure changes in participants’ knowledge and skills. The results show a significant increase in the aspect of understanding waste categories from 35% to 90%, the ability to sort waste from 25% to 85%, and awareness of environmental impacts from 40% to 95%. Residents’ commitment to conducting waste sorting also increased from 30% to 90%, accompanied by the emergence of initiatives to form an environmental care group. These findings prove that community-engagement-based training is effective in encouraging changes in community behavior and can be replicated in other areas to strengthen community-based waste management.
