Edukasi Berbasis Literasi Sains dalam Membentuk Kebiasaan Konsumsi Makanan Bergizi pada Generasi Alpha

Unhealthy eating habits among elementary school students have become an increasing concern in the Generation Alpha era. Exposure to digital media and the high consumption of instant foods cause students to prefer foods high in sugar, salt, and fat rather than balanced nutritious foods. Initial observations at UPT SPF SD Negeri Layang III Makassar revealed that most students tended to consume instant snacks and sugary drinks without considering nutritional content or health impacts. This community service program aimed to improve students’ understanding and develop healthy eating habits based on scientific literacy among elementary school students. The program involved 35 fourth- and fifth-grade students. The activities were conducted through interactive lectures, question-and-answer sessions, and discussions supported by visual media such as posters and healthy food illustrations. The evaluation was carried out using pre-tests and post-tests developed based on the PISA 2025 scientific literacy framework, covering the domains of scientific competence, scientific knowledge, environmental science, and science identity. The results showed an increase in students’ average scores from 59.7 to 85.7. The program effectively improved students’ scientific literacy regarding nutritious food consumption and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
