Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of weeds found in the oil palm plantation of Nagari Aie Tajun, Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. This type of research is descriptive using an exploratory method, namely exploring the research location by starting from the east, moving to the west and observing the right and left sides, by observing and collecting all plants with different morphological structures. The types of weeds found were identified in the Botany laboratory of PGRI University of West Sumatra. The results showed that there were 37 types of weeds belonging to 28 families. The Poaceae family was the most dominant family with 4 species, indicating high adaptability and competitiveness in the oil palm plantation ecosystem. The diversity of weeds found indicates the need for proper weed management to avoid disrupting the productivity of the main crop. This study provides an important contribution in providing baseline data on local weed diversity that can be used as a reference in sustainable weed management and control in oil palm plantation environments.
