Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model through podcast creation on students’ learning outcomes in the digestive system topic among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bangkala. This research employed a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study consisted of all eighth-grade students, totaling 169 students. The sample included 52 students, divided into two groups: the experimental class (Class VIII A) and the control class (Class VIII C), selected using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis.

The results showed that the average learning outcome score was 75.96 in the experimental class and 69.81 in the control class. Inferential statistical analysis yielded a significance value (sig.) of 0.001, indicating that α = 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. These results indicate that there is a significant effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model through podcast creation on students’ learning outcomes in the digestive system topic among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bangkala.
