Abstract

This study discusses the great potential of carbon and biomass deposits in the Green Open Space in Jompie City, Soreang District, Parepare City. The results of this study are expected to provide information about biomass in open forests and carbon stocks stored in biomass in the Jompie City Forest, Soreang District, Parepare City, so that this data can be used as reference research material for the utilization and improvement of urban forests. city ??...

Data retrieval was carried out using the transect path method included in the collection of litter and bottom plants. Data collected is data consisting of direct measurement results consisting of diameter at breast height (Dbh) and total tree height as well as measurement data for serasah biomass and lower plants in the Jompie urban forest area. The data obtained is then collected and processed using data tabulation techniques. The data generated is then analyzed and described.

Based on the results of the study, it is known that carbon stocks in Jompie City Forest, Soreang sub-district, Parepare City amounted to 0.22 tons / ha for litter, 0.11 tons / ha for lower crops (grasses) and 122.89.Ton / ha for trees From the results of this study, it can also be discussed that Jati Putih (Gmelina arorea) is the type of plant that has the highest carbon reserves of 27,964.48 kg / ha with a total carbon stock of 22.76% of the types of plants in the Jompie City Forest location.

The total carbon stock in the study location in Jompie City Forest, Pare-pare Soreang City District was 123.22 tons / ha, the plant species containing the most carbon deposits in plants with other types of plants that depend on the location of the Forest Research Jompie City.
